My art reflects my mind. It’s a crazy, colourful, psychedelic version of the world as I see it. Sometimes the simplest thing can turn into an idea, and once it gets into my head, who knows where it’s going to end up.
With almost a decade of travelling on the road in Australia, mixed with some overseas adventures as well, and all the experiences that come with it, somehow it all finds its way into my artwork. It can be a mix of anything from Australian beach and surf culture, road trips and discovering old cars abandoned in the bush, to different perspectives I’ve discovered flying drones around Australia and overseas — and even the wild and wacky aliens and UFOs that appear throughout my artwork.
There’s no real formula to it. It’s just a mix of experiences, ideas and things I see along the way, thrown together in my head and spewed out onto a canvas as this crazy, colourful, psychedelic world.

Meet the Artist - Paul Tyler
Creativity has been a part of my life for decades, going back to the late ’90s and early 2000s. From being involved in the independent FMX series Dial Triple Zero, to publishing Fully Tapped Magazine and building a bunch of different businesses after that, there has always been some kind of creative outlet in my life.
I drew heaps as a kid and I’ve always played around with paint, but my artwork as it is today didn’t really start until around 2012. At the time, I owned a skate shop in Torquay called Ride Stylz, and I found myself doodling a lot during the day. There was no real plan behind it — I was just drawing for fun. That’s where I started to find and develop my own style, and from around that time, art gradually became my main creative outlet.
Somewhere along the way I’ve developed a bit of a love affair with my art. I love drawing, I love travelling, and I love the way the two seem to feed off each other. The travelling gives me ideas, the art creates conversations, and those conversations have introduced me to so many different people along the way.
That interaction is probably one of my favourite parts of it. I love seeing kids smile when they look at one of my pieces, and I love watching adults stare at them trying to work out what the hell is going on in my head. It creates conversations, connections and, more than anything, good vibes.
I’ve also been incredibly fortunate to have sold around 60 original artworks, now hanging on walls throughout Australia and in four countries overseas. For something that started with me doodling for fun in a skate shop, that still blows my mind.
That confidence and the journey around my artwork eventually gave me the push to create Shoreline Junkies and take that creativity in another direction. But the art itself keeps growing and changing, and I’m still finding new ways to express whatever is going on in my head.
I genuinely have no idea where it will take me next — and I think that’s the best part.
